Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and the Alliance to Save Energy said they have launched the PowerSavers Challenge, a competition to encourage students and educators throughout Maryland to become more efficient energy consumers. The entry deadline is April 15.
For the challenge, middle and high school students will design an energy savings plan and create a video and/or pledge campaign. The top five participating schools with the most effective and creative campaigns to reduce energy use will each win USD1,000.
The top five schools will also receive training and support from the Alliance to Save Energy and a behind the scenes tour at the USA Science and Engineering Festival, April 26-27. The winning videos will be on display at Lockheed Martin´s newly redesigned Energy Solutions Center in Crystal City, Va.
