LOT Polish Airlines said it has reported a profit for the first time since 2008, closing 2013 with a net profit of PLN26m (USD8.6m) and an operating result of minus PLN 4m (USD1.3m).
The result is PLN 138m (USD45.6m) better than assumed in the restructuring plan.
Comparing the results year by year, the company credited the improvement on the ´Dreamliner effect´. Thanks to this state-of-the-art luxury jet, LOT gained as much as PLN 95m (USD31.4m).The business class recognized by passengers as the best in transatlantic flights available from this part of Europe has become increasingly popular.
LOT Polish Airlines has been connecting Poland with the rest of the world since 1929. Today, LOT´s fleet of 36 aircraft serves over 50 destinations across Europe, the Middle East North America and Asia. Its network is further enhanced by its membership in Star Alliance since 2003.
