Utilidata names new chief information security officer

Utilidata, Inc. said that Siobhan MacDermott has joined the firm as chief information security officer.

Based at Utilidata´s Providence, R.I., headquarters, MacDermott is responsible for overseeing the company´s information technology and product security programs, and ensuring that Utilidata´s products and processes are developed with the challenges of 21st century cyber security in mind.

An industry veteran with an authoritative voice on the security topic, MacDermott most recently served as chief policy officer of AVG Technologies (NYSE: AVG) and is a former executive at Intel Security (formerly McAfee Security).
