New UPS facility improves cross-border shipping

UPS (NYSE: UPS) said it has opened a new package sorting and delivery facility in Laredo, Texas, doubling the capacity of its previous building.

The new facility will also use advanced technology to increase processing proficiency. UPS customers in South Texas shipping to Mexico can benefit from the new technology by experiencing a one-day improvement in time-in-transit.

The new facility is strategically located to improve shipping to Mexico, an extremely important market for UPS and its customers.
