Southwest Airlines launches morning nonstop from Akron to Atlanta

Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) said it has launched new nonstop service to Atlanta with a 6: 05 a.m. departure to Atlanta aboard Southwest´s 143–seat Boeing 737-700 jet.

This flight replaces a similar flight operated by subsidiary AirTran Airways.

“We are thrilled that Southwest will continue flying to Atlanta from CAK,” said airport president and CEO, Rick McQueen. “Atlanta is one of our most popular destinations. Plus, this new service will preserve the lower fares and award-winning service Customers have come to expect to this important business and leisure destination. It is a win-win for the airport and the community.”

Southwest Airlines operates passenger airlines that provide scheduled air transportation services in the United States. The company was founded in 1967 and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Its website is at http://www.southwest.com.
