Delta Air Lines Foundation benefits Michigan nonprofit organizations

The Delta Air Lines Foundation said it has donated USD50,000 to support the efforts of charitable and nonprofit organizations that offer educational and wellness programs and provide assistance to those in need throughout Michigan.

The gift benefits organizations in Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Marquette, Midland, Oak Park and Traverse City.

Recipient organizations include local chapters of the YMCA; Junior Achievement; as well as community food banks.

The Delta Air Lines Foundation is a nonprofit corporation formed in 1968 to enhance Delta´s charitable giving. It is focused on the key areas of health and wellness, arts and culture, education and diversity.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Delta employs nearly 80,000 employees worldwide and operates a mainline fleet of more than 700 aircraft. The airline is a founding member of the SkyTeam global alliance and participates in the industry´s leading trans-Atlantic joint venture with Air France-KLM and Alitalia as well as a newly formed joint venture with Virgin Atlantic.
