Northrop Grumman names new technical services sector counsel

Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) has named Don J. Chavez, vice president, associate general counsel and sector counsel for its technical services sector, effective March 22.

Chavez will report to Sheila C. Cheston, corporate vice president and general counsel.

In his new role, Chavez will lead the legal team at the company´s technical services sector providing counsel to the sector president and senior staff. He will be responsible for managing the delivery of legal advice to all elements of the sector, including its multiple sites, programs and subsidiaries, across a wide range of legal matters involving government and commercial transactions, business development, investigations, environmental, intellectual property, employment and compliance.

Chavez joined Northrop Grumman in 1991. He earned a juris doctorate degree from the University of Southern California. He received a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of New Mexico.
