AVG names new chief legal officer

AVG Technologies N.V. (NYSE: AVG) said it appointed Harvey Anderson as chief legal officer.

Anderson joins AVG from Mozilla where he was SVP business and legal affairs responsible for the legal, business development, public policy, marketplace and content product teams. Anderson´s key accomplishments include the development of deep partnerships with mobile operators, search providers and device manufacturers.

In his role with AVG, Anderson will lead all global legal matters including compliance and ethics; as well as be responsible for accelerating partner and business transactions, IP and partnership innovation. Anderson will also lead AVG privacy initiatives worldwide. He will work out of AVG Technologies´ San Francisco office.

Anderson steps into the role previously held by Christophe Francois, AVG general counsel and corporate secretary. Francois has assumed the newly created role of chief of staff to Gary Kovacs, chief executive officer.
