Hughes to work with Aruba on WiFi service

EchoStar Corp. (NASDAQ: SATS) subsidiary Hughes Network Systems, LLC said it has teamed with Aruba Networks to offer retailers a new managed WiFi service which optimizes network traffic from the in-store wireless LAN to the corporate WAN.

Hughes said in-store WiFi networks often hobble critical business traffic such as POS transactions and VoIP conversations when sharing the same WiFi network with unpredictable guest WiFi traffic. HughesON In-Store Mobility solves this problem with enterprise-grade, end-to-end quality-of-service (QoS) for critical business traffic, and does so over budget-friendly broadband networks, saving retailers WAN connectivity costs.

HughesON Mobility leverages Hughes ActiveQoS and ActiveCompression and applies them to the in-store wireless LAN through Aruba´s Instant AP (access points).

Hughes Network Systems is the world´s provider of satellite broadband for home and office, delivering innovative network technologies, managed services, and solutions for enterprises and governments globally. For additional information about Hughes, visit www.hughes.com.
