Honeywell Aerospace to improve landing at Frankfurt International Airport

17 December 2013

Honeywell (NYSE: HON) Aerospace´s SmartPath Precision Landing System will be deployed by Frankfurt Airport to increase the speed and efficiency of landings and decrease air traffic noise.

SmartPath is the world´s only certified ground-based augmentation system, a technology that augments signals from the Global Positioning System (GPS) to make them suitable for precision approach and landing. It overcomes many of the limitations of Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) traditionally used by airports to guide aircraft as they approach the runway.

Honeywell is a Fortune 100 diversified technology and manufacturing leader, serving customers worldwide with aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings, homes and industry; turbochargers; and performance materials. Based in Morris Township, N.J., Honeywell´s shares are traded on the New York, London, and Chicago Stock Exchanges. For more news and information on Honeywell, visit
