TurboTax tool helps same-sex couples find deductions on prior-year returns

A new, online decision tool from Intuit (NASDAQ: INTU) TurboTax helps legally married, same-sex couples determine whether they´re entitled to a bigger tax refund for previously filed returns.

Couples can quickly and easily review their prior-year returns and learn whether they have money coming to them. If they choose, they can then file amended federal tax returns for free with TurboTax.

As a result of the recent Supreme Court decision striking down the Defense of Marriage Act, legally married, same-sex couples are now treated as married for federal tax filing purposes. Couples have the choice to go back and amend their last three years tax returns if they would have received a larger federal tax refund by filing a joint tax return.

Intuit creates business and financial management solutions that simplify the business of life for small businesses, consumers and accounting professionals. More information can be found at www.intuit.com.
