Clear Channel to launch 24-hour radio station at Chicago airports

US media firm Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings Inc´s (NYSE: CCO) New York-based Clear Channel Airports division and the firm´s iHeartRadio digital radio platform said they have teamed with the Chicago Department of Aviation to launch a 24-hour-a-day airport radio station called AIR Chicago.

According to the firm, the station is dedicated to keeping O´Hare and Midway travelers in tune with Chicago Department of Aviation information, airport traffic, weather, business news, smooth jazz music and much more.

The approximately 85m annual travelers going through O´Hare and Midway can now access “AIR Chicago” through and the iHeartRadio digital app, and Clear Channel´s local HD2 station – WKSC-FM/103.5 KISS FM.

O´Hare and Midway are the first airports to receive a dedicated radio station from Clear Channel, the firm said.

The addition of “AIR Chicago” is part of an ongoing effort to solidify and enhance the busy airport environments for which O´Hare and Midway are known. “AIR Chicago” will also serve as an impactful channel for local and national brands to reach consumers travelling through the Windy City.

iHeartRadio is available across all major platforms including web, mobile, tablets, automotive, television and gaming devices.
