Rahe named Americas GM at Skyscanner

Edinburgh-based travel search site Skyscanner said it has appointed Alex Rahe as the general manager for the Americas.

In his new role, Rahe will manage Skyscanner´s expansion into the North and South American markets, as well as drive the company´s strategy and development in the region.

Based in the new Miami office, he will report to Frank Skivington, Skyscanner´s chief commercial officer.

Rahe formerly held posts running a number of travel companies´ sales and marketing operations in the Americas, including Saudi Arabian Airlines, Sixt rent a car, Star Alliance, and Lufthansa.

He joins Skyscanner from the Global Business Travel Association Foundation, where he was director of business development, a role which saw him responsible for market development and growth in Latin America and Europe.

Skyscanner operates in 40 countries worldwide with a new office in Miami to serve North and South America and Canada, as well as offices in Barcelona, Beijing, Singapore and the UK.
