Southwest Airlines conducts "pre-black FLYday" sale

Dallas-based low-cost carrier Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) said it hosted a Pre-Black FLYday 72-Hour Doorbuster Sale offering discounted airfares in the US.

According to the carrier, the sale involves low fares available for 72 hours only on one-way travel to select destinations nationwide.

The sale took place Friday through Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 for the respective time zone of the originating city, for travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting Tuesday, Dec 10, 2013, through Wednesday, March 12, 2014.

Southwest also offered great deals on vacation packages, car rentals, and hotel stays.

Southwest Airlines and its AirTran Airways unit serve 96 destinations in 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and five near-international countries.
