Taleris goes live wiht Etihad Airways

Intelligent operations services firm Taleris said it has gone live with its Intelligent Operations services to Middle Eastern carrier Etihad Airways which it said helps to predict potential aircraft maintenance faults and recommends preventative action.

Taleris is a joint venture technology company between UK-based Accenture (NYSE: CAN) and US-based GE Aviation (NYSE: GE).

Following the initial agreement announced in July this year, Taleris and Etihad teams have moved to complete the deployment phase including integration of aircraft and ground based data systems with the Taleris web-based Airline Service Network.

The go-live milestone is marked by a move from the focus on deployment to service operations.

In the service operations phase, Taleris is providing specialized 24/7 support through resources located at its service operations centers in the US and UK as well as on-site at Etihad Airways´ Abu Dhabi hub.

Taleris´ web-based prognostics service, a part of its Intelligent Operations offering, is a first for the commercial airline industry and is being used to monitor Etihad Airways´ fleet of more than 80 aircraft. The prognostics technology leverages the Industrial Internet to increase the airline´s overall operational efficiency.

The expected benefits from the Intelligent Operations service include a reduction of unscheduled maintenance, fewer delays and cancellations, increased aircraft availability, enhanced on-time performance, increased maintenance efficiency, reduction in maintenance costs and reduction in lost revenue costs.

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, began operations in 2003, and in 2012 carried 10.3m passengers.

Taleris is focused on providing airlines and cargo carriers around the world with intelligent operations services focused on improving efficiency by leveraging aircraft performance data, prognostics and recovery. Taleris currently serves more than 25 customers worldwide and is headquartered in Irving, Texas, with operations in Eastleigh, UK and Manila, Philippines.
