Southwest Airlines declares USD 0.04 dividend

Dallas-based carrier Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) said that its board of directors declared a quarterly dividend of USD .04 per share to shareholders of record at the close of business on December 12 2013 on all shares then issued and outstanding.

The 149th consecutive dividend will be paid on January 2, 2014, Southwest said.

In its 43rd year of service, Dallas-based Southwest Airlines is the nation´s largest carrier in terms of originating domestic passengers boarded, and including wholly-owned subsidiary, AirTran Airways, operates the largest fleet of Boeing (NYSE: BA) aircraft in the world.

The company serves 96 destinations in 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and five near-international countries.
