Global aircraft door industry to reach USD 2,630.6m by 2020

The aircraft door market is is estimated to reach USD 2,630.6m by 2020 according to a new report from consulting and market research firm Lucintel.

Lucintel said the rise in demand is due to a rise in passenger traffic and air freight volumes.

Upcoming aircraft programmes will further drive the growth of passenger and cargo doors demand, the firm said.

Lucintel said it has conducted a detailed analysis on the different types of doors in the aircraft industry and presents its findings in “Growth Opportunity in Global Aircraft Door Industry 2013-2020: Trends, Forecast, and Opportunity Analysis.”

From the analysis presented, aircraft door manufactures will recognise that valuable opportunities exist in the global aircraft door industry due to impressive trends in demand, quantity, growth, regional factors, etc.

The industry is likely to expand with increasing demand of aircraft as global air traffic is expected to be high in all the emerging economies. Passenger door is the largest segment in the aircraft door industry and is expected to drive the total industry revenue over the next seven years, it said.

Lucintel anticipates the various challenges faced by the industry. Aircraft door manufacturing requires high level of engineering as huge amount of research and development is needed for manufacturing aircraft door. It also requires high technological expertise and certifications from aviation authorities.
