Massachusetts US-based explosives detection systems maker Implant Sciences Corp (OTCQB: IMSC) said that it has sold its QS-B220 desktop explosives trace detector to a regional US airline with for air cargo screening.
According to the firm, seven units will be deployed across five locations in the airline´s network under the deal.
The QS-B220 uses Ion Mobility Spectrometry to detect and identify trace amounts of a wide variety of military, commercial, and homemade explosives as well as drugs.
Implant Sciences said the units have a radioactive material-free design, push-button maintenance and diagnostics, and a patented inCal internal automatic calibration system.
The company said it is the third ETD manufacturer, and the sole American-owned company, to currently have product qualification from the US Transportation Security Administration.
