Jet Asia Airways starts Bangkok-to-Tokyo flights

Thai carrier Jet Asia Airways Co Ltd said it has launched two times weekly scheduled charter service from Bangkok to Tokyo´s Narita Int´l Airport commencing November 3, 2013.

The service is launched with the support of Thailand´ smajor outbound tour operators, the firm said.

Jet Asia said that a visa waiver for Thais traveling to Japan has sparked an influx of Thais traveling to Japan and is the driving force of the service to Narita.

According to the carrier, 500 roundtrip promotional tickets were offered at 7,555THB (USD 243) to jumpstart the flights. All the seats for November were sold out before the first flight operated.

Jet Asia Airways, founded in 2009, is a Thai carrier operating wide body Boeing (NYSE: BA) 767s.
