Icelandair posts higher profits

Reykjavik-based carrier Icelandair said that it had 3Q13 profit after taxes of ISK 65.3m as compared to ISK 51.4m in the preceding year.

The carrier´s Q3 EBITDA was ISK 102.2m up by ISK 24.3m from 3Q13. EBITDAR was 114.3m, as compared to ISK 92.7m in the preceding year

Total revenue increased by 17% between years while its equity ratio was 40% at the end of September 2013

Icelandair´s net cash from operating activities was ISK 30.3m, as compared to ISK 10.1m in the preceding year

The carrier said it carried 822 thousand passengers in 3Q13. The greatest increase was in the North Atlantic market, at 16%, with passengers in this market accounting for 52% of the total passenger number.

The tourist market to Iceland also increased significantly, by over 7%.
