Memphis Airport sticks with Boingo for distributed antenna system

Boingo Wireless (NASDAQ: WIFI) said that Memphis International Airport has selected the company as the airport´s wireless provider after a competitive RFP process.

Memphis International Airport chose Boingo to design, build and manage the airport´s first cellular distributed antenna system (DAS), and Boingo will continue to provide enhanced public Wi-Fi services for the airport, including a free Wi-Fi option.

The Boingo DAS network will provide improved cellular voice and data coverage and capacity throughout the airport terminals, ground transportation centre and surrounding areas, eliminating cellular “dead zones” and enhancing the passenger experience. Boingo´s neutral host approach to DAS and Wi-Fi ensures network availability to all wireless carriers and the best possible connectivity experience to their customers.

Boingo Wireless small cell networks cover places as varied as airports, stadiums, shopping malls, restaurants, universities, and military bases. The Boingo platform drives revenue through carrier offload, advertising, location-based data analytics, and consumer products like IPTV, high-speed broadband, and Wi-Fi.
