Alaska Airlines decates aircraft to aviation-themed high school

Seattle USA-based carrier Alaska Airlines (NYSE: ALK) said it has dedicated its “Spirit of Education,” Boeing (NYSE: BA) 737-900ER to the students and staff of Raisbeck Aviation High School

Alaska said that the aircraft will fly for six months around the carrier´s route network.

The carrier´s employees have mentored and volunteered with students interested in commercial aviation since the school´s inception in 2004.

As a founding sponsor, the airline pledged USD 1.5m in a public/private partnership to build the USD 44.5m school designed to educate the next generation of scientists, engineers, and other aviation and aerospace-focused professionals.

Alaska Airlines, together with its partner regional airlines, serves 95 cities through an expansive network in Alaska, the Lower 48, Hawaii, Canada and Mexico.
