Utah USA-based airline operator SkyWest Inc (NASDAQ: SKYW) posted that passenger boardings for September increased 1.4% to 4,899,354 compared to 4,831,914 for the same period last year.
SkyWest also posted a 6.9% increase in revenue passenger miles for September, while available seat miles increased 7.3 % compared to September 2012. The combined airlines generated 2.5bn RPMs for the month, while ASMs increased to 3.2bn.
Load factor decreased to 79.9% compared to 80.2% in September 2012.
The company also reported an increase of 0.3% in departures to 118,582 for September compared to 118,181 for the same period last year.
SkyWest is the holding company for two scheduled passenger airline operations and an aircraft leasing company.
The company´s scheduled passenger airline operations consist of SkyWest Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines. SkyWest Airlines operates as United Express, Delta Connection, American Eagle and US Airways Express carriers under contractual agreements with United Airlines (NYSE: UAL), Delta Airlines (NYSE; DAL) American Airlines (OTCC: AAMRQ) and US Airways (NYSE: LCC).
SkyWest Airlines also operates flights for Alaska Airlines (NYSE: ALK) under a contractual agreement.
