September traffic up for Aeromexico

Mexican airline operator Grupo Aeromexico SAB de CV (BMV: AEROMEX) said that its total number of passengers transported during September 2013 increased by 10.6% year-on-year.

The airline said this was its highest monthly growth rate of the year, reaching a total of 1.258m passengers.

Demand in September increased 8.7% year-on-year; a record high growth rate for a month since February 2012. Aeromexico´s capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometers, increased 4.6% year-on-year.

The September load factor was therefore 75.1%; a 2.9 % age point increase, year-on-year.

Year to date, Aeromexico achieved an 11.2 percentage point improvement year-on-year in on-time departure, reaching 89.5%.

Grupo Aeromexico operates more than 600 daily flights from its main hub in Terminal 2 at the Mexico City International Airport. Its destinations network features more than 80 cities on three continents, including 47 destinations in Mexico, 18 in the United States, 11 in Latin America, three in Europe, two in Asia and one in Canada.

The Group´s current fleet includes Boeing (NYSE: BA) 787, 777, 767 and 737 jet airliners and Embraer (NYSE: ERJ) 145, 170, 175 and 190 models.
