Harris gets networking vehicular radio contract from Army

Harris Corp. (NYSE: HRS) reported it has been awarded the mid-tier networking vehicular radio (MNVR) contract from the US Army, with a potential total value of USD140m.

Harris was chosen in a competitive procurement over three other bidders. The contract includes an initial order for up to 232 MNVR radio systems for the upcoming Network Integration Evaluation 15.1 in the fall of 2014.

The two-channel MNVR solution is based on Harris´ combat-proven Falcon III wideband networking technology. Harris has deployed more than 45,000 Falcon III wideband radios around the world.
