UK-based lodging firm InterContinental Hotels Group (LON: IHG) (NYSE: IHG) said it is continueing to increase the Holiday Inn brand´s footprint in Latin America with the signing of the new-build Holiday Inn Lima Airport hotel.
According to the firm, the USD 24m hotel will be located adjacent to the city´s Jorge Chavez International Airport, and is being developed by the Pinasco family, who will also manage the hotel under the Operaciones Turisticas Peruanas SAC entity.
The organisation has been working with IHG for years and also owns and manages the Crowne Plaza Lima hotel, IHG said.
IHG said that the eight-story, 179-room hotel is directly connected to the city´s international airport, and ideally situated just 2.5 miles away from the port of Callao, one of the busiest and most heavily trafficked sea-ports in Latin America.
The firm has 44 Holiday Inn hotels and Holiday Inn Express hotels throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, and has been present in Latin America for more than 65 years. IHG has more than 75 hotels in Central and South America and the Caribbean.
