Tellabs signs deal with Intervid for resale of optical LAN in Australia

Tellabs (NASDAQ: TLAB), a leading vendor of optical networking solutions, and Intervid, a provider of specialist security and communications solutions to the government, commercial and mining sectors in Australia, have signed an agreement for the resale of Tellabs Optical LAN solution in the Australia market.

Under the agreement, Intervid will be an authorized channel partner within the Tellabs PartnerPlus Program for the Optical LAN solution, and will provide sales, system integration and maintenance support throughout Australia. While the Tellabs Optical LAN solution forms a major part of the deal, the reseller agreement covers all Tellabs´ products, including packet optical solutions.

“Our agreement with Intervid will help Tellabs provide the advantages of Optical LAN to a new set of customers in Australia,” says Ralph Candiloro, Tellabs vice president and general manager of APAC sales. “While Tellabs is an established vendor in the Australian telecom industry, we are looking to extend the benefits of Optical LAN to customers in enterprise vertical markets such as the oil, gas and mining sectors.”
