Officials at Ohio USA-based Akron-Canton Airport said that the airport has launched a service that allows travellers to use mobile devices to display boarding passes at check-in at TSA security checkpoints and to board flights.
Participating airlines include US Airways (NYSE: LCC), Delta (NYSE: DAL) and United (NYSEl UAL), airport officials said.
With the service passengers won´t need to keep track of a printed boarding pass any longer. The electronic boarding pass will take its place as passengers move through the airport to their flights.
CAK Customers flying AirTran or Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) can expect mobile boarding passes as a future benefit of the integration of the two carriers.
The airport has launched a mobile website at www.akroncantonairport.com.
