Public agency The Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) announced on Thursday at the second Bahrain International Airshow that US provider of aircraft engine MRO services AeroThrust Holdings LLC USA is to establish AeroThrust Gulf Aviation Services WLL in Bahrain.
EDB stated that the formally concluded joint venture agreement with Bahraini partners follows EDB’s proactive outreach and consultation process to support the decision to invest in Bahrain, as well as continuing support around the registration process. The Bahrain Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA) has also declared its support for the venture.
Under the joint venture AeroThrust Holdings LLC’s technical expertise will be leveraged in the aircraft engine MRO services sector and it will provide a full range of aircraft engine MRO services for the Pratt & Whitney JT8 and CFM International’s CFM 56 series of engines.
AeroThrust Gulf Aviation Services WLL is expected to invest approximately USD20m in its facility at Bahrain over the next 3 years. The 94,000 sq ft facility will be completely dust free and incorporate the latest climate control technologies, tools and machinery, according to EDB.
