SAS AB (STO:SAS) is conducting intensive negotiations to offload its Norwegian arm Wideroe’s Flyveselskap AS (Wideroe), the Sweden-based air carrier’s CEO Rickard Gustafson told Reuters on Friday.
SAS is engaged in a close dialogue with a number of interested parties, the CEO told the agency, without specifying a time frame for inking a potential deal.
Wideroe executes 400 flights per day, carrying some 2.5m passengers per year. The company flies to 47 domestic and international destinations, with its network consisting of 60% commercial routes and 40% public services obligations (PSO) routes.
Wideroe, which has a 1,400-strong personnel, has said it generates a turnover of some NOK3.2bn (USD563.5m/EUR430.6m).
